Group of doctors on RI ACEP Advocacy Day on the interior steps of the Rhode Island State House

RI ACEP’s Advocacy Day was both energizing and impactful. The day began with an engaging series of presentations from four knowledgeable speakers who offered valuable insights into issues facing emergency medicine today. Their perspectives helped frame the challenges ahead while equipping attendees with the context and confidence needed to advocate effectively.

Building on that strong foundation, participants headed to the State House for a productive and encouraging meeting with Senator Pam Lauria (Barrington, Bristol, East Providence). The conversation proved a shared commitment to improving patient care—Senator Lauria is also a nurse practitioner—and supporting emergency physicians. All in all, the day struck just the right balance of learning, connection, and meaningful advocacy.
